  1. Welcome
    ? Approve Agenda. Motion to approve Agenda. Passed
    ? Approve Minutes of Apr 14, 2025. Motion to approve minutes. Passed.
  1. Student Council Report
    ? Student Council Elections May 9. 15 ppl for next year. First joint mtg with previous and upcoming councils.
    ? Spring Fling May 21
    ? Parent Council support needed to sell hot dogs with LPAC. $2 per dog. LPAC teachers will run the grill.
    ? Vendors/Food trucks
    ? Set up will be at 8am
    ? No parking in the north lot that day
    ? Wellness Week May 5-9
    ? Mental Health and Addictions Nurse spoke
    ? Events all week
    ? Wellness Room was launched and opened on Monday. Open at lunchtime with a teacher supervisor (when available). Room 47 in the basement.

? LPAC Overtime Challenge – May 30th
? 12 hours – noon – midnight. Various sports activities. Senior student activity.
? A donor providing grilled cheese sandwiches
? Relay for Life May 29th
? Raises money for Cdn Cancer Society.
? Pace Art Show – May 15th 5-10p Location: Stackt 28 Bathurst St.
? Scarves being sold that were designed by students.
? Amplifying that LPCI is not only sports but very strong in fine arts.
? Buddies
? Head buddies have been selected. Interview stages will be finalized by next week.

? Clubs and Councils website
? Gives info on all clubs and the application process for each

3. Principal’s Report
? French Immersion
? 1st and oldest program in Toronto. 50% of students in the program. Very successful in the competitions and standardized exams. Perhaps LPCI Council could look at having an event in the 2025/26 school year to celebrate and support the immersion programs.

? The Business and Co-op program is winding down.

? Program has flourished and students are working in numerous places. School hosts a breakfast to meet the community partners who support the program. Perhaps LPCI Council can support this program and we can look at parents who may have co-op opportunities at their business. Contact – Natalie Fimis – Co-op/Business

? June exam schedule out. Moratorium is advertised.

? Washrooms
? Programming to support student/ caregivers/parents around vaping that is highlighted in the EYE. In partnership with CAMH.
? Graduation June 25 at 1:30pm Parkview Manor
? Alumni
? New co-chairs of Alumni group. Looking forward to 2025/26 year. November 2026 will be celebrating its 90th anniversary.

? Bike Racks
? Work order is in to move the bike racks to rear of the school – help protect from theft
4. Council Chair Update
? Spring Fling – May 21
? Parent Council runs bbq Proceeds from bbq will be split between Right to Play and Budget for 2025/26 student council.

? Dinner Theatre – May 22
? This event needs volunteer help. You can buy theatre or theatre/dinner combo.
? Sponsor and a restaurant will cater.
? Students who need volunteer hours worked at it in the past.
? Social Justice Film Festival – May 26 – Sheridan Hay
? Student docs about social justice. 10 min films.
? Relay for Life – May 29
? Need parent support – as volunteers or make up a team.
? Relay for Life is community-wide.
? Live music at the event
? Kaleidoscope Play. Drama department won the regional competition. Moved to
provincials in Gananoque. Performed and won 2 awards.
5.Sub Committee Updates
? Treasurer – Report filed under separate document
? Fundraising
? Spring Fundraiser is the 1st ever licensed official lottery. Currently raised
14,700K. Goal is $30K. 790 tickets/2000 sold. 128 ppl have purchased.
Proceeds going to a number of projects in the school

? Grade 12 Reps
? Grad lawn signs are in the works.
? New grad sign for school is in the works

? Alumni seminar for 2025 grads. Should it continue for this year? Yes, if possible. Guidance must be consulted and on the call to ensure the messaging

? Field Update
? Plans with the design team and negotiating with the Scottish Rugby Club. Once a report comes from the design team – then we can see what the field looks like.
? Question: Will there be a community consultation before it is set? Response: MG will find out.
? Question: Slated to begin in September? Response: Yes. That is the plan.

  1. Teacher Representative Report
    ? Ensure students take advantage of the extra help offered prior to exams. One-on-one teacher assistance or lunch time peer tutoring.
    ? May 23rd – mark update
    ? May 26th – culminating activities begin
    ? Gr. 9 EQAO June11&12. Practice exams will be online prior to those exams. Also extra support one week prior to EQAO at lunchtime.
  2. Other Business
    ? Next Meeting t.b.d June 17th is proposed. Meeting will be in person.
